Fresh produce at farm prices
Freshfield Produce Aggregation Limited (“FPAL”) is a limited liability company registered in Nigeria and with the main objective of providing post-harvest solutions for the Agricultural Industry
FPAL plan to set-up and manage the necessary aggregation and logistics infrastructure and on-sell the same to Lagos and other regional markets with huge unmet market demand.
The starting point is that FPAL intends to partner with the Government of the State of Osun in the launch of a State dedicated “AJE Aggregate Scheme”.
This scheme will ride on the Freshfield “Direct To Farmer” eCommerce marketplace for fresh produce procured directly from farmers and primary traders on behalf of buyers. This peculiar technology design empowers and leverages local agents and farming co-operatives to secure products.
The main objectives are:
- To create a farm-to-shelf marketplace for farmers/ traders in State of Osun
- Designed to enable farmers – of any size – food hubs, and service providers to access ready markets across the entire produce value chain.
- Bringing together and show-casing isolated, fragmented participants in order to create viable economies of scale in State of Osun
The estimate value of monthly off-take and aggregated fresh produce based on enumeration carried out comes to N1.25 billion in the first year alone.
This will sustain over 1,200 small-scale farmers in 70 localities in the State, promote over 700 farm produce traders and create estimated 1,200 direct and indirect jobs.
Already, over 620 farmers and 90 bulk/primary traders have been enumerated.
Target Food Produce
This scheme will cover the following 11 fresh farm produces for which Osun State has comparative advantage of production in commercial quantities:
